Article Directories

and watch how people return to your site on a regular basis.
You can create an unlimited number of sub-sections" on your site, (such as Marketing Articles, Reviews, Business Opportunities etc) and have an unlimited number of articles within each section.
Each section also has a short description so that users know what sort of articles they will find within that folder.
Having selected a section, each article is then described via a headline and brief description. If the surfer wants to read the article, they click the link.
You - or your readers - write and upload articles via this script. As webmaster, you review each article, and if you like what you read, you click a button.
The article is now "live" on your site!
All articles that are published to your site - which can also include graphics - can be downloaded by other webmasters via a zip file, (created automatically by the script). This allows other webmasters to add the article to their site, giving the author even more publicity.
As each new article is uploaded, older articles are moved to the archive pages. In this way, your article directories will be regularly updated with new content.

Event Diaries
Want to promote an important historic date?

You can set up an unlimited number of diaries, each of which has a brief description. When the user selects a diary they wish to read, they click on a link.
The diary displays a month-to-a-view. Any day that contains entries displays a short headlines below that specific day. When a user clicks on a headline, a window pops up to reveal more details about the event.
You can move forward or back a month simply by pressing a button.
Or you can jump to any particular year between 1970 and 2070 (and beyond!!) simply by selecting a year from a drop down menu.
Each diary can be set up to operate in two ways. The easiest is where anyone can publish details. Unfortunately, this means you can expect a few "clowns" to post rubbish / obscene entries!

Message Boards
People like to agree - or disagree - with their peers.

Make them return to your site again and again just to add their views.
Message boards - or forums as some people call them - are basically areas where surfers post comments and requests for help, and await for someone to reply to their message. The type of messages depend on what topic the forum deals with. It could be people writing about video related problems, or people discussing the latest hot website / promotional method.
You can create an unlimited number of message boards, and assign a brief description to each one. Once a user has decided on which forum they want to "investigate", they click on a link.
Note:
Some message boards generate a tree hierachy whereby a topic headline starts a branch, and each reply generates another sub-branch; it takes ages for the list to download before you even start to read messages! Our system simply displays a topic headline for each entry. Click on that, and the user can read the message.
Let's say John posts a message. Peter now visits the message board, reads what John has said, and adds his comments. However, Jack comes along and disagrees with both of them, and adds his IMHO (In My Humble Opinion). Then someone else adds their comments and so on.
Soon, lots and lots of people are agreeing or disagreeing with a "thread", and it soon becomes a "hot" topic of conversation. People return to your website again and again to read the latest entries.
When someone adds a reply comment to a message, all those people who have contributed to the "thread" get an email telling them that someone has posted a reply to the message. Thus, people will return to your membership site again and again to read replies / start new topics.

News Update Pages
Why make your customers search your website for your latest news?
Keep all your update information on a single page which is easy to update.
In essence, this is a very basic "blog". However, unlike other blogs where users can post comments - which is open to abuse - only the webmaster can post to this blog.
The admin / webmaster can create an unlimited number of News Pages, and add a brief description to each one. The user can then decide which page they want to read, and click a link.
- You're a software developer who has discovered a bug in a program.
- Place a note on your News Page advising people to download a patch.
- You're in a Rock Band ... and your drummer has broken his wrist.
- Place a note on your News Page explaining why you had to cancel.
To add your news item, you simply type your message into an online form.
Click a button ... job done!
After a few months of adding updates notes to your page, it's starting to get a little long. (How you ever seen a blog that rambles on and on down the screen !!!)
But with this software, you simply press a button, and start a new page. A link is added to the bottom of the page that links to the old page which is now in the archive. Try doing that with a blog program!

FAQ Pages
To the reader, it's a vital question.
For you, it's the tenth time this week you've answered that question!
A few web sites have sections known as FAQ's (or Frequently Asked Questions). As the name suggests, this area contains questions that the webmaster has answered many times before! In order to avoid having to repeat the same answers again in future, they set up these simple page.
Again, you can set up various FAQ's, each relating to a particular topic, and each having a brief description to tell the user what they will find within that section. You can create an unlimited number of sections.
Sometimes, the webmaster will also attempt to "pre-think" the average person visiting their site, and create questions they feel a potential client may ask. In this way, they can provide answers to questions that (perhaps) the user hasn't even thought of.
Using this script, all you do is enter the "question" via a simple form,
enter the appropriate "answer" and press a button. That's it! The FAQ has been added to all the others on the page.
You can also split the FAQ's over several pages so that it does not appear too cluttered.

Guestbooks
Find out what is good or bad about your site.
And then use the positive comments to help promote your site even more.
Guestbooks are probably the most underated scripts on the 'net. True, they allow surfers to make comments about your web site - but they can also be used for other purposes too.
Anyone who sells goods on the internet will tell you the values of testimonials; people who have used and recommend a particular product or service. So why not invite your satisfied customers to sign the book? Take out the best comments and - with their approval - use them on your testimonial page.
Another suggestion would be to allow users to make suggestions about what they would like to see on your site, or perhaps give suggestions as a new product / service they would like developed. Such feedback could allow you to create services which would be in demand with many people.
Now if you placed every entry on a single page, it would be soon become a huge page. Instead, you could have 15 - 30 entries on each page with extra entries moved to another page. You control how many entries appear per page
Again, if you kept every entry for (say) five years, it would be a very large guestbook. However, once a limit is reached you can have older entries deleted automatically as new entries are added. You control how many entries to retain
You can also opt to recieve an email everytime someone posts an entry in the guestbook. You can also delete rubbish entries simply by clicking a button.

Surveys
Most businesses discover what their clients require via Market Research.
A survey can help achieve this ... and create a few 'just-for-fun' quizzes.
Majority of the surveys you've probably seen on the web have been very limited in what they can do. In most cases, they allow you to ask surfers a single question, then ask them to select one of several options. That's fine as a novelty item ... but not very helpful when it comes to conducting market research surveys.
A true survey might
- Allow you to ask several questions
- Give users multiple choice answers
- Make an overall comment on subject
- Display votes before voting
- Display votes after voting
Since we couldn't find a suitable script, we had to create one!!
There is no limit to the number of questions you can ask the reader. You can even add more questions at a later stage if you wish ... and even change the order of the questions!
Each question can be "single option" where users must select a single answer, or "multiple choice" where they can select several answers each time
Some people feel that if you show readers how other people have voted before they vote themselves, it can influence their voting choice. So, by clicking one button, you can hide the results until after people have made their choice.
Perhaps your survey will reveal "commercially sensitive" answers, (ie you don't want your competitors to know the results of your market research) No problem. A simple change, and now your voters will simply see a pop-up window thanking them for voting. Only the webmaster can now view the results.
You can also create multi-colored questionaires. You can adjust ...
- The color of the whole question and answer table - per question
- The background colour of the question
- The font color of the question
- The colour of each answer
- The font colour of each answer
- The color of the bar graph used to display the results.
You can even let the reader make comments that may further help your market research. The admin can also edit these comments if they wish.
You can also add more questions and answers, and even change the order of the questions!

Link Directories
Many webmasters appreciate the value of RECIPROCAL LINKS where they contact sites promoting similar items to their own. They use the context
" you link to my site
and I will print a link to your site"
That's fine ... except most webmasters simply place all the links on a single "Resource Page" and end up with a long page of meaningless hyperlinks to other sites.
Our script takes the concept one stage further, and creates CATEGORIES into which webmasters can place links. Each category is given a description so that again both advertiser and user knows whether or not it's worth "moving down" into that folder.
As well as a link to the advertiser's website, they can also add a short description so that the user knows what they will find at Site XYZ.
In practice, the surfer sees a home page listing various categories, (with a short description about each). They click on a link and arrive at a sub-category. They 'drill down' until they find a section where all the links are. Again, each link has a short description so the user knows what he'll find on each website before he clicks the link.
The script also creates a "site map". This is a series of drop down menu options that shows the "directory tree" of the database onscreen.
For example, they select a directory from the top menu, and the next option box fills with a new set of sub-directory catergories. They then select a new directory from this option box, and the the next box fills with options and so on. In this way, they can "drill down" until they find a suitable category for their ads.
At the same time, the "path" to their desired folder is also shown on screen, which they can copy to a text file. Thus, when they go online, they can follow this "path", and instantly drop down to the folder they require.
As more and more sites add their links to your directory, it can become a "One-Stop" resource where brower's return again and again to find links to specialist sites.
And now you've placed the other webmaster's link on your site, you can politely ask them if they would consider placing a similar link on their site back to you.
**The directory is created by creating a text file.
Whilst every stage of creating the file is explained, it is not for the faint-hearted!

"Tell-A-Friend" service
Have you ever told a friend about a good site you've visited?
Imagine a hundred or more 'friends' promoting your website the same way.
Why not ask people who visit your site to recommend it to their friends?
They use a simple online form to enter the names and email addresses of up to ten friends, add a personal message and then click a button to send them details. Their friends will receive the message in their email.
This is a form of VIRAL MARKETING which could help to promote your web site very rapidily to lots of people. After all, a few of those friends who visit your site might use this service and introduce your site to their friends and so on.

Various safeguards have been incorporated into this script, such as a CAPTCHA device, and an email verification process that stops spam programs from using the script to send out thousands and thousands of bulk emails.

Members Can Contact Other Members
Another feature of Web2.0 sites is that users can create a list of "buddies" who share their interests etc. Our scripts can do that - and in fact go a little further...
Every user can set up their own profile to include age, colour of their eyes / hair, where they live, interests and so on.
These profiles can be searched via our Members Search Engine, which displays a list of people matching the criteria, (together with their photo if available)
If Member A decides to contact Member C, they send them a short message.
However, both parties actual email addresses are kept secret.
The next time Member C logs in and views their profile, they will see that someone has sent them a new message. They decide to send a message to Member A via the system.
In short, at no time is a person's email address revealed to the other party
... until both parties feel confident about exchanging email addresses with each other.
Plus...
when a Member submits an article, or posts to a message board etc, their NickName appears beneath each entry. If a surfer clicks on the NickName, that user's profile appears enabling the other member to make contact with them if they wish.
NB: If a member gets too many messages, they can disable their profile so it is not shown.
Members can also select their own "skins" to personalise the look of the whole site.
Webmasters:
At present, you will have to design your own HTML template skins using our Designer program - or wait till Third Party vendors start offering "skins" that are compatable with our system!
How You Create A "Members Only" Website
Having decided on what particular niche topic to market too, you decide on which features to include, (you don't have to use them all). Next, set up your Membership terms. Perhaps offer a free or reduced price trial for x days, then set an amount to be paid each month/week. Again, answer a few questions, and that's it!

Just think ...
if you was marketing ebooks, you might make $30 on one sale. ONE SALE. Unless you sell more products to that person at a later date, $30 profit is all you're ever going to get!
Not so with a Membership site. That same person might pay you £30 A MONTH -every month- year after year! This is a much better business model; a recurring income.

And no, we're not talking about adding a simply hyperlink to a page. Anyone can pass such links to their "friends" and allow them to download your goods.

Here, products are placed in various Categories, such as "software", "ebooks" and so on.
Every items customers purchase are added to our basic Shopping Cart
(The Product Database also handles physical goods).
One click, and all items are paid for va PayPal
They are then diverted to the Download Vault.
We use a secure system. Basically, once someone purchases an item, the script sends them an email containing a passcode. They then go to the "Download Vault" page, log in using their passcode, and the list of items they have permission to download is shown on screen.
NO PASSCODE = NO ACCESS TO DOWNLOAD ITEMS
You can also limit the number of download attempts they can make. Once that limit is reached, that item is removed from their download list (so even if they pass the entry code onto their friends, they will soon find their passcode is blocked)
Using Affiliate To Create Sales
One guaranteed way of increasing sales is to recruit affiliates, and pay them a percentage of each sale. The software even helps you sign up affiliates ... and reminds them of their affiliate code should they forget it!
When they log in, they see a list of products that can promote*. It shows them the Retail Price / commission and Member Price / commission. Plus, it reminds them of the URL they should use for that product. They can even view the Sales Page so they can see what they're promoting.
*You define which of your products you want to allow affiliates to promote
They can also track the number of visitors they have sent to a particular Sales Page, and the number of sales made.
